What Fresh Hell is This?
Medium has announced that to be eligible for the Partner Program one now needs to have 100 Followers. That’s 100 Followers before they’ll even consider given you one single solitary dollar, regardless of how well your store performs.
Worse, they’ll most suitable drive yourself out of the plan if you’re an existing ‘Partner’ and don’t manage to accrue 100 members by year-end.
So what? It’s only $1 (in my case). The business isn’t the case. It is a means of scoring. Claps, shows, reads are also numbers, but a more substantial (and ego-boosting method) is by taking paid a few handcuffs.
I don’t care one jot about the tip the self-proclaimed “best novelists” (some say that) get paid. I don’t care regarding the smallest adjustment several will now serve from. Good opportunity to them. I do consider about my one miserable money. It’s a form of validation from us beginner journalists and it would be a regret to lose it.
I acknowledge it’s Medium’s train set and they can do as they wish. More and more though, this place seems to serve the few rather than the various. It’s near as if Boris Johnson is driving the show. The fat tory prick.
